Encounter Groups

In addition to one-to-one psychotherapy, I also facilitate Encounter Groups. The concept of Encounter Groups was developed by the psychologist Carl Rogers as a means for individuals to connect with others in a manner and setting unlike our day-to-day interactions. Encounter Groups are small, unstructured gatherings of people who come together to explore and share their innermost thoughts and feelings. The focus of Encounter Groups is the fostering of self-awareness, self-discovery, and personal growth through the experience of being seen and heard by others in a non-judgmental, supportive environment. By listening and empathizing with others in turn, it is possible to learn more about ourselves, our relationships with others, and how to live more fulfilling lives.

Encounter Groups typically consist of 6-12 people who meet on a regular, ongoing basis. If you would like to be added to the waiting list for the next group, please contact me using the form on the home page.
